Welcome to the parlor archive for 2020-2021! If you would like to post a comment, please visit the current Parlor page.

Well, another year has gone by quickly!

I will confess that I don’t keep up the parlor as often as I’d like. One reason is that it’s a bit fussy to maintain, so for the new year, I’m going to try a new approach. I’ll leave up the old pages, but I won’t archive any more. Comments will come in on this page. They get shut off automatically now and then, to discourage spammers. I plan to drop by every so often and when I do I’ll refresh the comments option, so please say hello here and I’ll be along soon to respond.

If you’re on Facebook, the Wisteria Tearoom Group is the best place for tea and company in the Wisteria Tearoom community. I look in there at least a couple of times a week, and the group there shares fun tea pictures and recipes, etc.

    Good afternoon, Ms Greenwood,

I just finished “Family Matters,” and was so pleased about Ellen and Tony. I will be looking forward to the next mystery, and hoping it won’t be the last.

Near the end of January, I was visiting New York City with my cousin, Mairead. For the last several years she and I have done this and it is a trip to which I look forward all year long. This year we had afternoon tea at the historic St. Regis Hotel. This was Mairead’s first tea. The location was absolutely lovely with crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceilings which were painted with clouds, blue skies. The tea was wonderful as we spent two hours enjoying the tea room, the courses, the harpist playing, and each other’s company. The history of the Astors and the tea celebrated there for Mrs. Astor’s favorite ladies was interesting to read. Among other facts we learned about this “high society” family was how Mr. Astor gave up his life boat seat to a young woman on that fateful maiden voyage of The Titanic.

It is our plan to visit a different tea room on each of our future visits. Wish you could join us.

    Sincerely,
    Virginia

    • If you get to England be sure to go to Cliveden on Cliveden Road, Taplow, Maidenhead, Buckinghamshire, SL1 8NS A beautiful place full of gardens and her home is now a hotel and you can take a tour…they also have a quick bite in several of the gardens…I asked the doorman where I could get a proper sitdown meal and the restaurant (complete with a Matre d”) was the highlight of my trip….(I remember texting my husband that there were no prices on the menu…he said, “it’s lunch how bad can it be?” It was a bit steep but well worth it for the ambiance…good thing they take credit cards…I may not be able to live like the Astors all the time but I can dine like them once!

    • That sounds delightful! I have not visited many tearooms in New York City, having only traveled there a few times. A visit there is a bit of a trek for me. I did have tea at the Plaza, which was lovely. The St. Regis sounds delightful.

How wonderful it will be to enjoy such occasions when the current social crisis is over.

  2. I have so enjoyed Ellen’s story so far and anxiously await the next book!

  3. Good Afternoon,

I would like to know when I can start looking for the next book in the Wisteria Tea Room series. I have them all and have read them now a couple of times.

Thank you for answering this. I appreciate it.

    • My apologies for the delay in answering. I confess I get a little tired of responding to this question. The answer is – I don’t know yet. I don’t set dates before a book is finished, because I hate having to push them back if life interferes. It will probably come as no surprise to you that life has interfered quite a bit with my writing in 2020.

The good news is that I am indeed writing, and a new Intermezzo will be coming soon. The next full-length mystery should appear in 2021, and as soon as I know release dates, I will announce them here.

  4. What a lovely series to stumble across. Fully formed characters, well plotted mysteries, and a sensible heroine all set in Santa Fe. I found the Wisteria Tea Room Series through a Library Recommendation and savored them all just finished As Red As Any Blood and am eagerly awaiting the next novel. Thank you for sharing your characters with us.

  5. Just finished the first book in the Wisteria Tearoom series. About halfway through it, I found out I already had books 1, 3, and 4. I went ahead and ordered 2, 5 and 6. Can’t wait to finish the series.

  6. Are you going to write another Wisteria Room book?
    I have patiently been waiting!

  7. I absolutely love the Wisteria Tea Room series. Looking forward to the next book. And another series maybe???

  8. Hello. I just binge-read the 8 books in the tea room series. Santa Fe is my favorite place, and reading your books was almost like being there. In my mind I could smell the polish that is used in the La Fonda when you were describing La Plazuela. Your story lines are so enjoyable, and I’m hoping you have another book after

  9. Just finished all 8 books in the wisteria tearoom series! Loved them all ! Is there a book 9 coming out? I have to know all the details of Tony and Ellen’s wedding!
