Well, we survived July 4th. Here in the mountain forest, we don’t set off fireworks because we don’t want to start a forest fire. Makes for a peaceful celebration. We watched a favorite movie – The Iron Giant – which has plenty of explosions as well as a lovely, funny story and a marvelous cast.
So many of my friends, and so many pets, are traumatized by the loud noises that come with fireworks. Myself, I love the sparkling flowers, but I don’t like the loud reports. I wish there could be a shift toward more beauty and less noise.
Here’s the winning July teacup – the Strawberries cup – along with a lovely (and silent) firework-looking dahlia from the garden, and some actual strawberries which I will now devour.
Thank you to all who voted in the poll. Results are here.
Have a wonderful, peaceful July!

PS–Yes, I’m still writing book 9.
