Well, here we are in August at last! Book 5, A Masquerade of Muertos, came out August 9. I hope you enjoy it! I am now going to stagger off to the chaise longue…

I always feel like l’m in the tearoom or whatever setting you are describing. I can’t wait to read book three; I fact, I’m starting it tonight! I do wish there were so illistrations throughout the stories.

Bravissima! “Masquerade” is absolutely great! Your books just keep getting better and better! Hope you’re enjoying time on that chaise longue, but please don’t stop writing them; they’re really too good! I think the price one must pay for excellence is that there’s pressure to continue! The wait ’til Book 6 will seem interminable!
Am sitting with cup of Hu Kwa, re-reading it already! (By the way, I meant to tell you: Hu Kwa is supposedly the standard against which “the other lapsang suchows” are compared. I hadn’t realised it was even in the same category- I’ve tasted other LS tea, and while they were similar, there was indeed a difference…)
Thank you, Monk! I’ve never tried Hu Kwa, so I’ll have to look for some. I take Lapsang Soochong very sparingly; it’s so powerful.
I am already working on book 6, so never fear! There will be more Wisteria Tearoom books.

I can see the events in my mind’s eye, and so enjoy “knowing” where things happen and the familiar surroundings…. your stories are engrossing and enjoyable… I love that Captain Dusenberry still lives on in the house, and he is a friendly ghost…
Please keep these wonderful adventures coming… I am on Book 3 and will finish it this weekend. Am so looking forward to reading #4 and your new one, #5.

Alas, there is no “real” Wisteria Tearoom, but the next best thing is the St. James Tearoom in Albuquerque, which inspired me to write this series. If you will ever be passing through Albuquerque on your way to Santa Fe, do plan to visit. Just read ‘A TWIST OF LEMON’ and much enjoyed it. I do like finding a new series I want to follow. However, speaking as an Australian who has spent a lot of time in England, and enjoyed a lot of cream teas, why do you always accompany your scones with lemon curd? Strawberry jam, I think you call it conserve, is by far the most usual, and dare I say, traditional, accompaniment. Just a small nitpick, although it did grate with me.

The lemon curd is a nod to the St. James Tearoom in Albuquerque, which is the inspiration for the Wisteria Tearoom. They always serve lemon curd (or sometimes other fruit curds) with their scones.
I know that other American tearooms also serve lemon curd, so maybe it’s an American custom.

I would like to say I thoroughly enjoyed your stories. Each one full of details and mouth watering descriptions of the cakes and different tea’s. Thank you for the recipes too, though I’ve not tried any of them yet, but I shall, soon. I’ve just finished reading book five and was that intrigued by the Gothic and the Poe setting that I have downloaded Poe’s “Terrifying Tales” so to understand the coloured rooms.
I will wait patiently for book six. I’m looking forward to finding out more about the Captain, he’s a mystery. The front cover’s of the books are very attractive, I like all the different teasets and how Ellen named the tea rooms after flowers. What a lovely touch to change Marigold to Violet, I shed a few tears for Vi.
Oh, and one more thing… is Tony Aragón nuts! What is he afraid of? Ellen won’t bite his head off! Sorry, I just needed to get that out of the way.
